Im-off (the "app") is a personal mobile app for tracking paid leave and days off. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, and who it may be shared with.
In short: your data stays on your phone. The developer runs no server that collects or receives your data. There is no account to create, no profile, and no advertising tracking by the developer. The only data leaving your device is advertising-related (free tier) and whatever you deliberately send to your own Google account.
Contents
This policy applies to the app regardless of the country you use it from.
The app is distributed under different names depending on the language, but it is the same software, covered by this policy:
| Language | Name |
|---|---|
| English | Im-off |
| French | G-conges |
| German | Hab-Frei |
| Dutch | Heb-vrij |
| Swedish | ÄR-ledig |
Items the app creates in your Google account (backup file, dedicated calendar) also carry this name, in your language.
The app stores locally on your device (the app's private storage, isolated by Android): your balances and custom counters, the leave you have booked (dates, type, status), and your preferences (country, theme, accrual settings, profile/employment status, reminders). This data never leaves your device unless you enable one of the features below.
The app does not ask for your name, email address, location, or contacts.
All are off by default and are triggered only by you.
You can export your data to a .json file that you choose to share
or import. The developer has no access to it.
If you connect your Google account: Google Drive
(drive.file) — the app creates and reads only its own backup file in
your Drive; Google Calendar (calendar.app.created) —
the app creates a dedicated calendar and its own events. This data goes into
your Google account (Google's
privacy policy). The developer does not receive it. Access can be revoked at
any time from your Google account settings.
Opens your email app with a pre-filled message; the email is sent only if you send it.
The free tier shows ads served by Google AdMob, in two formats:
As soon as you buy a paid tier (G-conges+ or Cloud), both formats disappear permanently. The "Support" tip tier keeps advertising.
Changing your mind: you can turn off ad personalisation at any time in your device's Android settings (Settings → Google → Ads), or reset your advertising ID. You can also remove advertising entirely by subscribing to a paid tier.
Handled by Google Play Billing. The developer never sees your payment details; Google only reports whether a tier is active, so the corresponding features can be unlocked.
For users located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland:
The developer carries out no transfers. However, the Google services used (AdMob, Play Billing, and Drive/Calendar if you enable them) may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards put in place by Google (standard contractual clauses, applicable adequacy frameworks). See Google's privacy policy.
Your data lives on your device for as long as the app is installed; the developer keeps no copy. To erase everything: uninstall the app, then — if you had enabled Cloud — delete the backup file in your Drive and the dedicated calendar from your Google account. Advertising data is retained by Google according to its own retention periods.
The app is aimed at people in employment. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data concerning them. It is not designed for audiences covered by COPPA (United States) or equivalent regimes.
Because your leave data stays on your device, you retain direct control: you can view, edit, export and delete it from within the app itself, without going through the developer.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority: CNIL (France), Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Netherlands), your Land authority or the BfDI (Germany), IMY (Sweden).
You have equivalent rights and may contact the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
You have, in particular, rights of access and rectification, and may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
The developer does not sell your personal information. However, serving personalised ads may qualify as "sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising" under California law. You may opt out at any time by declining ad personalisation (section 5), or by subscribing to a paid tier, which removes all advertising. You also have the rights to know, access, delete and correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.
For any request: thepankarapp@gmail.com. As the developer holds no personal data that can identify you, you may be directed to Google for anything concerning advertising or your Google account.
This policy may change; the date at the top indicates the last update.
Recent addition — publisher message: to occasionally inform you
(news, maintenance…), the app fetches a static file hosted on GitHub
Pages (thepankar.github.io) at startup, at most once a day. As with any
web connection, this request exposes your IP address to GitHub;
no identifier or personal data is sent, and the publisher stores
nothing. If no message is available or a network error occurs, nothing is shown.
